I became a professional Jazz Trumpet Player and Singer when I was 18. And here I am, 82 years old, and still singing and swinging...

I got my first trumpet when I was 13 and I taught myself to play. Two years and some lessons later I was asked to appear on TV on the Paul Whiteman TV show, Town Teens. And by the time I was 18, my career was in full swing and I was playing in clubs and hotels in New York City and Upstate New York.
